Stiles Cemetery

Mayfield Township was organized on April 17, 1843 at a meeting held at a school near the home of Martin Stiles. One of the first decisions made that day was to establish a "burial ground". Indeed, a burial ground was established. And it was named after Stiles.

Today, Stiles Cemetery, located adjacent to the
Mayfield Township Hall, continues to be owned by the people of Mayfield and operated by the Township Board. The board establishes charges for services and adopts the cemetery rules and regulations.

A Veterans Memorial Garden and Civil War cannon (top left) honor our nation's veterans in Stiles Cemetery. Most recentlyadding a Cremains Columbarium. The cemetery is the resting place for many veterans, some of whom served in conflicts dating back to the Civil War.
